Vaccination does not end in childhood. Adults should periodically check whether vaccines started in childhood are still up to date and whether any new options have become available. You can view your vaccination records at terviseportaal.ee – and we can help you review your protection if needed.
Childhood vaccines may need updating
The protection offered by some vaccines weakens over time. It is therefore worth periodically reviewing which vaccines you currently have. Your vaccination history is available at terviseportaal.ee. If you would like help interpreting the data, we can assess which vaccinations are still valid and which need renewing.
In addition to childhood vaccines, there are some conditions for which vaccination is recommended specifically in adulthood – for example influenza or tick-borne encephalitis.
Flu vaccine: who qualifies for free vaccination?
At the start of the flu season, a free flu vaccine is offered to people at higher risk of severe illness. The current list of state-covered risk groups (source: Terviseportaal, Adult vaccination):
- residents of care homes or people receiving special welfare or supported living services
- people aged 60 and over
- children aged 6 months to 7 years (inclusive)
- pregnant women
- children aged 8–18 with a higher risk of severe illness due to: cardiovascular disease, oncological conditions, immunodeficiency, diabetes or chronic lung disease
The flu vaccine is now also free for adults aged 18–59 who have been diagnosed with certain chronic conditions that increase the risk of severe influenza. The exact list of qualifying conditions is set out in an annex to the Social Affairs Ministry regulation.

What if a vaccination course was left unfinished?
If a vaccine course was interrupted for any reason, there is no need to start over from the beginning. Each dose already received has contributed to building immune memory. The vaccination course continues from where it was left off – no extra doses are required. We can help you draw up a precise plan for resuming your vaccinations.
Which vaccines are free for adults under the national immunisation schedule?
Under the national immunisation schedule, diphtheria and tetanus vaccination (dT) is free for adults. Other vaccines – such as tick-borne encephalitis, hepatitis and travel vaccines – are generally charged. For current prices, please see our price list.
