Pre-employment health check
The certificate is mandatory for working in catering establishments and for starting work or studies in certain professions. The purpose of the examination is to prevent the spread of infectious diseases to clients, consumers or patients through work processes. An employer may also send an employee for an additional health check based on a risk assessment carried out during employment.
NB! This service is not covered by national health insurance and is paid for all patients. Prices: with X-ray 45 €, with bacterial analysis (stool culture) 80 €, with X-ray and bacterial analysis 95 € — see the price list.
Application process
The applicant books a nurse appointment, during which they complete a health declaration and confirm the information with their name and signature. The applicant is then referred for the examinations required for their profession:
Certificate with stool culture
- employees handling food and drinking water;
- employees who come into contact with food, drinking water or their handling equipment through their work;
- employees cleaning food and drinking water handling premises.
Certificate with X-ray and stool culture
- animal keepers and persons whose work brings them into direct contact with farm animals and animal products (except keepers of farm animals for their own consumption).
Certificate with X-ray
- teachers, childcare staff and other employees in direct contact with children and adolescents;
- welfare workers providing services directly to persons in need;
- healthcare workers and other healthcare facility staff in direct contact with patients;
- beauty and personal service workers in direct contact with clients.
Important to know
- Results are available within 1–5 working days. The doctor then makes a decision based on the health declaration, health record data and the examination results.
- Laboratory testing for other infectious agents is carried out if the health declaration indicates a history of infectious disease, stay in a risk area, contact with an infected person or clinical symptoms. The healthcare professional decides whether additional testing is needed.
- The certificate must be paid for before the examinations. It can be issued on paper or by e-mail — please tell the nurse your preference at the appointment.
